In this tutorial, you will learn how to cut out anything in Photoshop.

You will learn to extract a foreground from a background using the Select and Mask workspace.

You can think of this Photoshop tutorial as a mini crash course on select and mask, but also, as an explanation of my masking workflow.

  1. this is the best tutorial so far. you deserve more subscriber than piximperfect. your way more clearer and in-depth in terms of explaining

  2. Good tutorial, but you need to edit it. You do a lot of "backwards and forwards" which really messes up the flow when you're trying to learn. I didn't need to change the color and opacity 6 times.

  3. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I using masking all the time but didn't really know how to use the tools properly. Was getting frustrated. Then I figured maybe I would be able to do a better masking job if I really understood what the tools meant.

  4. Hey Jesús, i´m from Spain, i have just wached the tutorial and woooowww thank for all that info. Muchas gracias por este tutorial es magnifico.

  5. When I don't select or don't have any selection tge the select and mask option don't show up on top, any recommendation to solve it?

  6. Thank you so much!! You answered all my questions. I love to composite but my edges always glowed including the hair. You really helped me step my game up!! Also purchased the course. Thank you!

  7. Superb. Very easy to follow your instructions. Much appreciated. Explained very clearly with a right pace. Thanks.

  8. On Photoshop 2020 you don't need to separate the hair from the body for masking. Just mask the body or the hair first and then come back to the masking screen. All the global settings are reset after doing that.

  9. When it comes to learning to use Photoshop your videos are the easiest to follow by far. Thank you for considering those of us who aren't familiar with everything in the program as those who are experts. NEW SUBSCRIBER!

  10. Thank you Jesus Javier. Very good tutorial. One step at a time. Easy to follow. I am a beginner. I feel like you studied first your lecture before delivering it. This is what makes you different from other instructors. Other instructors make mistakes during the demo and they try to correct the mistakes by showing many options how to correct them. There is nothing wrong with that except I lost track of the lecture and gets confused on many options…and most of the time, the lecture takes more time than I expected. Of course, I am talking only about myself and my pace to learn. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
