Lisa Gade reviews the Dell Inspiron 11 3000, a 2-in-1 Windows 8.1 convertible with an 11.6″ touch screen and Lenovo Yoga style 360 degree hinges. You can use the 3 lb. Inspiron 11 as a laptop, tablet, presentation or tent mode device and it runs full Windows 8.1 64 bit on Intel Celeron dual core or Pentium quad core CPUs with Intel HD graphics. We look at the 2.16GHz Pentium model with 4 gigs of RAM and a 500 gig, 5400 RPM HDD and a 1366 x 786 display. The laptop has 3 USB ports, HDMI, 3.5mm audio, single band WiFi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 43 wHr battery. The Inspiron starts $399, and Dell will offer a 13″ model in the fall of 2014.

Hey Lisa, Received my Dell Inspiron 11 3000 as a gift ( about 3 ) yrs ago … Enjoyed your video … Wondered why my laptop doesn't have vents ? Windows 10 as the software ( geez what a nightmare that is ) in addition curious what the tiny square ( port ? ) is on the upper right hand side … I've watched many video's to try and conserve battery drain but nothing really works … Battery life is an absolute nightmare … I don't know if my Windows updates are using some battery life as I'll go to sleep with 87% and wake up to 70 something when I turn it on in the morning … Thx in advance and happy holidays from New York

save yoursel hours of annoying why did i buy this , buy downloading mozilla firefox & lowering the graphoic screen resolution to 1024 . good portable laptop thats light.dont use another keyboard either and some devices you connect will slow it down to where it wont even work.

this reviewer might be a shill. worst laptop i've purchased. It is slower than my 5 year old cellphone(im not exaggerating) and all i do is use a browser. How much did they pay you to shill this piece of crap?
I've had this computer for over a year. It's not very fast. Keys broke easily. It can run all browser tasks fine but it runs most games like a toaster.
Welp, mine is having a few issues after two years of light use. Really slowed down after upgrading to win 10, overheating and most recently the left keys on the keyboard (esc,1,a,z caps) stopped working. Did a google search and found it to be a common problem with this series. I had almost forgot I purchased a warranty for it, so off it goes to be repaired. Really do like the way it looks, hopefully adding an SSD and more ram will help.
Does this laptop work with a Dell Active Pen? Or do I need a third party stylus?
Bought this laptop in 2014, it's been dropped, handled terribly, has scratches all over, but still runs really well. All I did was a RAM upgrade. Only unreliable thing is the track pad. Highly recommend as a basic pc for school or browsing.

What could indeed be improved memory up to 8 gb?
This is by far The worst device I've ever had in my entire life. All the left side physical keyboard keys don't function and if they do then only at a moment of choice by the cancer laptop never before an hour of keyboard activation and only for a few continuous moments of typing. The two touch keyboards are useless for another reason and that's because you can't see what you're typing. Dell claimed a proper keyboard function during testing under warranty and they sent me the laptop back with exactly the same problem. The keyboard dysfunction covers: 1, Q, A, Z, Tab, Caps Lock, Shift, Left Ctrl, ESC, "&'. Basically all the keys to the extreme left where the laptop is warm. Dell! Issue a recall if you have a drop of pride.

I just got one with Windows 10 and either I got a defective one or something else but this is the most sluggish computer I have used for a long time. Everything is just painfully slow and at the end I decided to return it. I I like the design and gold color plus its very portable. Overall a beautiful notebook with a very sluggish performance. Mine is comes with Intel Pentium with 4GB RAM and 128 SSD which is why I suspect that it may be defective.

hi, do you find the display color a bit washed out?
2 in 1 is a nice concept. I’ve owned the laptop for a couple months and it already has issues with a dead battery, noisy charger, speaker distortion and sloppy warranty repair (scratches on laptop lid). Buyer beware
Just got one for $199 July 1, 2016. Bumped RAM to 8 Gb and dropped in a bigger SSD in place of the 32 Gb eMMC drive and a 120 Gb SD card. Fresh install of Windows 10 without all the Dell bloatware. Still evaluating it for the next 3 weeks. Stylus works, but no hand writing recognition. Wanted a tablet with a keyboard for checking off inspection checklists at work, may just use it as a small laptop with the added bonus of the touch screen.

I love mine. I paid only $299 because I had a $200 gift card. I just updaded the memory to 8GB and the HDD to an SSD, and it is now much faster. But it was not without a lot of work that Windows installed on the new disc, since the clonedisk did not work. The only thing about this 2 in one is that the keyboard sometimes does stupid things.

hey im considering between this model with i3 6200U (or maybe the newer 13 7000) and Asus ViVoBook F555UJ, for around $600 AUD. I am a game design uni student (Unity, photoshop, game maker) but I do have a desktop at home. I just need one to bring around, and can handle a little of those programs while at uni and casual gaming (Dota 2, LoL, CSGO). Which one do you recommend me? 🙂 Or is there are others at a similar price (preferably not above $600). Thanks in advance!
