Don’t buy this if your using it for heavy work (Animating, Modelling and any other software that can overheat the tablet) once the cpu is hot you can get screen flickering and this weird horizontal line above and there will be a chance that the tablet will freeze. The only way to fix the issue is to restart it or turn off the tablet and wait for it until it cools. As an animator and a 3d modeller this can get very annoying and time consuming I suggest you get another laptop or even better a PC.
Many youtubers are out of touch with reality. They are fond of really expensive and bulky models while students want an affordable, light weight computer
I have one however have never been able to use it as it does not function with it on charge or just on battery or will not even power on.

USB type A still completely has better device support than any other USB type connection out there, and also USB type C, while fast, still doesn't completely draw enough power for more complex USB type applications such as ones found in networking so it is actually completely smart for Microsoft to completely use USB type A for their Surface lineup of devices because of those two things alone!
Would you recommend getting this for a budget tablet for a student writing essays and searching the web, now!? Not sure I can justify getting the pro 6

The Surface Pro 4 although looks great it is absolutely shit. Do not get it I repeat do not get it! My surface pro only worked for 2 years and crashed (it was used strictly for university work). Took it to get fixed only to find out that it would cost me nearly 300 pounds. If you're smart enough and want to save money stick with Lenovo, Dell or hp laptops. Also, it's flimsy you cannot comfortably lay in bed with it or put it on your lap. The touchscreen was atrocious and sometimes unresponsive. The pen I hardly used. You could only download apps from the windows store. The screen glitch is also a well-known problem users of surface pro 4's experience. That was my horrible experience and I will never buy or recommend it!

Don't by it guys so many people including myself have driver or display issues. I even sent mine back to have it replaced with one with scratches all over the back just to have it revert back to the same issues right when the warranty expired.
I think you should probably Buy the Go Not The Pros Because it's too Expensing and the go is just a bit small and Does the same thing

Has anyone had issues with the screen eventually flickering/turning black? I’ve read lots of comments on different tech review forums that this happens after 6+ months or so
Advice from an early buyer, don't buy one of these pieces of shit. Look up surface pro 4 screen flicker and you'll understand. It's not an isolated incident either, and there's no fix.
I dont recommend buying the 2017 version… Even that it has gen 7 processors… The SSD is soldered so its a huge downside for guys who loves teardowning the surface to add the God Tier Samsung EVO…
The Pro 3 has mSATA and Pro 4 has M.2 slot…

As its not made for gaming, i would love to see a thunderbolt 3 in the near future😇. The new surface laptop should have 8gigs of ram, 128/256 memory, i5/i7 8th gen, ips display, backlit keys, 2 in 1 with the thunderbolt 3. Not much!!! BIG DREAMS😇lol
