Arduino and the 4 digit 7 segment led display – Anything Arduino Ep 21

In this arduino tutorial I explain how to work with the 4 digit 7 segment led display, and the difference between the four digit display and the one digit display, and how you can connect four one digit display to work just as the four digit one. I then show how to multiplex the common pins to be able to write different numbers to each digit. To see how the numbers are made watch Anything Arduino Episode 7 where I make the arduino sketch that we use and alter in this video.

  1. for some reason when I do this If for example I want it displayed on the second digit I need to turn the first, third, and fourth all on high to do that. does anyone know why this is?

  2. Oh Sweden, that's where the accent comes from … sorry, we don't get out much … especially with the virus 🙂

  3. CAN YOU HELP? I HAVE A 4 SEGMENT CLOCK MODULE THAT HAS 3O WIRES ON THE BOTTOM AND AM HAVING PROBLEM GETTING PINOUT OFIT.

  4. Why is it that I have to flip all the high and low around to match what is being shown in tutorial? I have a Elegoo Mega2560 board.

  5. You wrote a link on your description that redirects us to that Duinos page that has the sketch files (as expected). But when i clicked the link, and entered that duinos website i saw no sketch file. please let me know where to find it

  6. How would i go about turning this into a digital clock? Yours is the closest i have come to understanding how to do this.

  7. Thanks. I am trying to make a video game device like a nintendo game and watch using arduino. I found this very helpful.

  8. Very well explained and simple to understand. This is my first working project with arduino. I am also going to repurpose it into a small digital clock. Thank you for the great tutorial.

  10. The code on your site is corrupt but I was able to figure out what is going on based on your training! You do man!

  11. Where are your current-limiting resistors? Why are you connecting this display directly to Arduino outputs without resistors?

  12. My display is not doing anything. I've dissemble it several times. Code is compiling fine. There is no power going to the display at all.

  13. Hi, im trying to finish my project but im having trouble in my codes. How can i make the zero remain in the 1st tube after looping and so o , until it goes back to the first one and loop again? Thank you
